Magill and Kyle met in Japan when they were both working for the same company. The pair moved to Boston after Kyle accepted a job there. On a sunny Monday when they were both off work, they went to the Public Gardens, where Kyle proposed in the middle of a bridge. People passing on swan boats underneath began clapping. The happy moment was a total surprise for Magill.
When the pair saw Litchfield Plantation, they fell in love and knew they wanted to be married there. They let the venue inspire the rest. The property is filled with beautiful oak trees dripping with Spanish moss, so they wanted to complement the natural beauty. They chose an airy and bright peach and blue color scheme with lots of white mixed in. They wanted the day to be fun and full of Southern charm. The pair used a cross made by the groom’s brother from wood from the family’s property back in Pennsylvania. The focal point of the ceremony was a trio of custom-made stained glass windows. The bride’s unstructured bouquet gave a whimsical feel. Phillip Casey captured the special moments.
Magill really enjoys art and making things, so she did some DIY with signage and decor pieces. Her parents were willing to help with any idea she had. Her dad put together the seating chart made from an old door and created a tall post with arrows displaying the mileage for places that are special to the couple. Real peaches were used throughout the decor and one of Magill’s favorite elements was how beautiful the different tablecloths and centerpieces by Gigi Noelle looked together. The table numbers were a mix of China plates owned by the bride’s mother, grandmothers and great-grandmothers. There was a gorgeous cake by Incredible Edibles, as well as two small “cakes” made from Oreos and Rice Krispies, two things the groom loves. Each guest left with a mini pecan pie made by the bride’s grandmother. Everyone was treated to a stunning sunset as dinner ended. “We had people traveling in from all ends of the country, and it was amazing to be with our favorite people and feel so much love from our wedding guests,” said Magill.
